[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There was a time when prefabricated-panel was a not so admired word in home building. Offsite fabrication was an outlier in the industry. The term prefab was spoken in hushed tones, often accompanied by a sneer.<\/p>\n

Terminology used in the build industry can be confusing to people. PREFABRICATED PANELS is an excellent example. Some believe a prefabricated home is synonymous with a manufactured home. Not true. They use two completely different build protocols. Yankee Barn Homes is a custom<\/em> prefabricated panel build company. We build custom designed homes which can be full post and beam, partial post and beam, or completely panelized. Our homes go up as a shell<\/a>. From there, a general contractor finishes the home.<\/p>\n

Prefabricated panel homes have come a long way since their inception. Today, offsite construction is the future of home building, and the future is here<\/em>. A YBH build creates less construction site mess, less material waste and a superior energy-efficient home, due in part to the Yankee Barn Homes True Panel\u2122 System<\/a>. A stick built home cannot duplicate the effectiveness or efficiency of our True Wall\u2122 and True Roof\u2122 panels without adding significant time, materials, and cost.<\/p>\n

Each Yankee Barn build begins life in our controlled environment facility. Every home is custom designed by the YBH Design Team in conjunction with the new homeowner and\/or architect. When the design process is complete, the plans go to our shop supervisor and the prefabrication process begins. YBH uses technologically advanced machinery and techniques for our panel construction, and our posts and beams are precision cut to exact measurements using computerized saws. The machinery used is impossible to duplicate on a stick-built site, not to mention it’s use within the controlled environment of our factory. Most Yankee Barn Homes are up and enclosed in under two weeks once components arrive on site. Enclosure in two weeks is highly unlikely with a stick-built project.<\/p>\n

There is a reason Sherry Koones recently published a book titled PREFABULOUS WORLD\u00a0<\/a>(<\/em>YBH home, Laurel Hollow is in the book).\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0The book features prefab homes from around the world. The houses ARE<\/em> fabulous, as well as being energy efficient marvels.<\/p>\n
