[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This timber frame before and after feature will be of great interest to a number of potential Yankee Barn clients, as many often request Small Barn Home<\/em> plans. Well, this little wonder should be right up your alley. Mansfield Hollow Cottage packs a lot of punch in it’s 1789 sq ft plan (not including basement), complete with the option for single floor living. As always, if you like certain features but not others, we can change designs without issue. We are a custom build firm and, as such, cater specifically to the needs of each individual client.<\/p>\n

The Before photos show the cottage was too far gone to rehabilitate with any level of cost efficiency. Built to be used as a summertime camp, there were none of today’s build requirements present, never mind meeting building codes. The rot which had occurred meant this structure could not be saved. Being a lakeside structure, some rights were grandfathered in. A new structure could be put up, but it would need to meet strict codes the State of Connecticut currently mandates of lakeside properties. Enter Yankee Barn Homes and one great little timber frame custom design kit, The Mansfield Hollow.<\/p>\n

Configured on the interior to make the most of every square foot, the plan is open and<\/em> efficient. No space is wasted in the Mansfield Hollow plan, but that doesn’t mean boring or mundane. For example, there’s a snazzy open cupola in the upper level bath. Because the site affords commanding lake views, each room’s focus is toward the wall of windows at the back of the house. We hope to have more photos of the timber frame interior in the coming months so please keep an eye out for them.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Mansfield Cottage timber frame is the perfect plan for those looking to build a small Age-In-Place home. Everything needed is on the first floor, including master bed and bath, therefore this timber frame plan is readily adapted to suite us as we age. All within 1789 square feet!<\/p>\n
