At Yankee Barn Homes a cottage may be stucco, clapboard, shingled, ship-lap, board and baton, stone or any combination of these. As a custom design\/build firm, we cater to the vision of each client. When you see a home built by Yankee Barn, you may build one just like it or use the design as a spring board for your own dream home.<\/p>\n

The Mansfield Hollow Cottage has a back story not uncommon for a lakeside home. A ramshackle cabin on a Connecticut lake was not worth the money required to renovate, so the couple chose to tear it down and build new. Enter Yankee Barn Homes.<\/p>\n

The new post and beam cottage comes in at 1789 square feet; 1032 square feet on the first floor, 757 square feet on the second floor (does not include basement). The three bedroom, two bath cottage works well on the narrow lot with stringent lakeside septic requirements (hence the 2 bath plan). The master bath is accessed from the bedroom and the entry hall, solving the issue of an available bath on the first floor.<\/p>\n

Currently under construction, the Mansfield Cottage will utilize cedar shingles and stone on the exterior with an open concept floor plan. We are excited to see this home completed.
