When we last saw the Grantham Lakehouse<\/a>, I focused on the classic shape and style of the barn home as Yankee Barn ventures back to it’s roots in designing today’s classic barn home. This post will demonstrate how far the barn home has come in 8 short weeks.<\/p>\n

Since early March, the house has come quite a way, with progress taking place inside and out. Let’s take a look:<\/p>\n

There’s not one window in the back of the home which doesn’t overlook the lake.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the interior of the home is beginning to take shape. Fireplaces are in and flooring is being installed.<\/p>\n

A look from the staircase up to the second level is awe-inspiring. The classic post and beam frame is a reminder of the simple beauty found in a Yankee Barn. Natural light filters throughout the family room located on the second level of the home. Do I spy another granite fireplace???<\/p>\n

Yes, there is another granite fireplace, located in the second-level family room of The Grantham Lakehouse. Designed to take full advantage of the natural light coming from around the room as well as the open cupola above, this area will be an oft-used space for friends and family alike.<\/p>\n

The craftsmanship in both fireplaces is amazing. They will most certainly become focal points in each room as they are stunning works of art in themselves.<\/p>\n

But make no mistake, we guarantee the architectural feature that will command your attention will the be post and beam frame of this barn house. Elegantly simple in it’s barn style design, it will quietly stand sentry over everyday life in this home for years and years to come. As it should!<\/p>\n

By way of wrapping up, we couldn’t let the opportunity pass without showing you the family who has already moved in near the new barn house. The cutest “kids” you have ever seen have already taken up residence. They obviously have very discerning taste.<\/p>\n
