Today’s update is in tended to catch you up on all that has occurred over the past four weeks. Quite a bit has happened since we last saw this timber frame going up, so let’s take a look at where it is now. We’ll begin by viewing the renderings of what the guest house\/office\/workshop is to look like when completed.<\/p>\n

The Beacon Carriage House Construction Update<\/h3>\n

Since we last visited this build site, there has been a great deal of landscape (stone retaining walls) and building exterior finish work completed. Here’s what the Yankee Barn Homes post and beam looked like as of the second week of December.<\/p>\n

As you can see, all siding and trim (including copper roofing on cupola and front) are on and stone landscaping work and stone finish foundation are in process.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n

…the stone work is extensive, but will add a huge amount of character to the carriage house’s overall New England effect when completed.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n

The Beacon Carriage House Interior and Floor Plans<\/h3>\n

The beginnings of walls can be seen in these pictures, which actually means a lot of plumbing and electrical work is completed. This is the non-sexy part of a build, but an integral part which has to happen before interior walls go up and flooring goes down. So, even though it may not be readily apparent, there has been a great deal accomplished since the last time we visited this property.<\/p>\n

Though the picture is a bit fuzzy, you can tell the concrete floor is in, which means the radiant heating system has been put in place.<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n

On the second level, that gorgeous post and beam frame is ever present, but now, so is the tell-tale white piping of the plumbing system. Advances are being made every day!<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n
