In a previous post Yankee Barn Homes East Hamptons Update<\/a>, I mentioned a post & beam English cottage barn home in East Hampton was underway. While it’s sister Yankee Barn home is in the traditional barn style, this post & beam takes its cue from the barns of Merry Olde England. What a breath of fresh air for the likes of The Hamptons to see this warm stucco exterior with gray-black framed windows!<\/p>\n

A Bit of History
\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n

While not standing totally on tradition, this barn home from the company Yankee Barn Homes<\/a> and the mind of it’s creative director, Jeffrey Rosen, certainly looks the part. Jeff and his business partner, Gerard Mingino had been finding and rehabbing\/building homes for the past 10 years when they happened upon the what they saw as “the real deal”, a post & beam home and barn company which was interested in the New England tradition of excellent product at a fair price. After building their first Yankee Barn together more than two years ago, The Tate barn<\/a> in East Hampton, Jeff and Gerard realized they were on to something great. Jeff was so enthused, he became a minority partner and Creative Director for Yankee Barn Homes. That’s what you call a first-rate recommendation! \"Barn<\/a><\/p>\n

Post and Beam English Cottage Barn Home In East Hampton<\/strong><\/h3>\n

While far from finished, this English cottage barn home is already showing some very stunning looks. Watch its progression in the following pictures as the taupe colored stucco goes on, a pool is put in, and some beautiful post and beam rooms begin to take shape. Did I mention the gorgeous English style brick chimneys and the real shingles on the roof? They make the entire exterior look come together seamlessly! \"Barn<\/a><\/p>\n

The stucco is still drying in the picture above, but look at this next picture, taken from the back a few weeks later. The stucco is dry, the pool is in and those chimneys are up. This post and beam barn home is already gorgeous and it’s no where near complete. That’s how I know a home is going to be truly spectacular!<\/p>\n

The Interior Begins To Develop<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As the exterior of the barn home continues to evolve, the interior begins to develop, including one room with the per-requisite fully lofted ceiling (the exterior of the room may be seen in last picture of the previous tab), four fireplaces that will include herringbone details (seen on the interior of the fireplace below), chevron pattern and wide plank pine floors and completely separate guest quarters in the basement. All floors will have radiant heat and other than the one lofted room, all ceilings are flat with rooms incorporating a lot of beam structure. The beams will all eventually be bleached and made to look weathered utilizing a gray wash finish.<\/p>\n

More Wonders To Come<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The second floor has two great bedrooms, with all the typical Yankee Barn Homes post and beam structures visible. Each bedroom has it’s own bath. There is also a master suite – really two rooms – one a sitting room with a fireplace, the other a master bedroom with bath. Oh my! \"Barn<\/a><\/p>\n

The first floor has a one car garage incorporated as part of house, a mud room and bath, a combination kitchen\/dining room, family room, a step down living room, and guest bedroom ( or second master) with bath. Oh my, my, my!!<\/p>\n
